Limited release. Swimming in a fresh water pool at the base of a cascading waterfall is what we all imagine we would find in paradise.
On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. This golden, sun colored ale has a bright, citrusy flavor that comes from the tropical passion fruit we brew into each batch. Sit back, relax and enjoy paradise anytime.

Pours a clear, golden color white a nice white head that lingers and leaves a collar. Passion fruit dominates both the aroma and taste, and the wheat is not very pronounced.

12 oz bottle into flute. Strong aroma of passion fruit, citrus drink powder. Pours golden with a fast disappearing head, no lace. Taste is sweet and sour with no bitterness. Carbonation is medium. Kind of watery. Body is light to medium. Decent fruit beer. Unusual choice of fruit, which is admirable, yet obviously makes sense given that this is a Hawaiian brew. I’ve had better, though.

25th June 2008. Really not that fruity and also a little watery. A real let down this - was hoping for somethiing with more flavour than this.

A gift from a friend coming in from out west. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow-golden color with a small white head. The aroma was tangy passion fruit with a perfumey undertone. The flavor was dryish and tart with a fairly strong and distinct passion fruit element. The finish was tangy and fruity. Medium body. Odd but decent.

The aroma is DMS, green olive, and something distinctly vegetal that I can’t quite place. Shimmering golden, no head. The aroma I couldn’t identify is artichoke, as its taste is unmistakable. Cabbage aftertaste. Really worse than I feared. Poor ingredients AND poor QC, a rare and dangerous combination. I should rate it even lower.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of straw and citrus and just a hint wheat. The flavor is sweet with wheaty notes combined with yeast and fruits - peaches and oranges, leading to a dry wheaty finish. A bit weird fruitiness, but thirst quenching.
