On Maui, follow the old Hana Highway and you will find such a place – Wailua Falls. This plunging cascade of clear water is the inspiration for our Limited Release Wailua Wheat. Dra. Very pale yellow, small white head. Aroma pf grapefruit. Taste is citrus bubblegum. Very light body.

Big thanks to nke for this brew! Aroma is a little sharp as far as weird perfu few fu fruity ale kick goes. Perhaps a little plastic on the aroma. If this is standing in a pool under a cascading waterfall, not sure if I want to go there. Yes, aroma carries over to the flavor; sizzling odd unsweetened fruit coctail thing happening here. Does not seem to be over 5% but by this site it is. Glad to have tried this but it would take a while for me to get used to this, more of a while than getting used to my own homeade hard cider fer sure. A fairly mild finish but that flavor, oh my! Yes, unsweetened and at times artificial passion fruit thing but I think real passion fruit is artificial anyhow, what do I know?

Bottle @ home. Clear, golden appearance with a white head that dissipates to nothing pretty quickly. Light skunk, pineapple, passionfruit, grainy malty aroma. Pretty citrusy, tropical fruity (passionfruit, grapefruit, pineapple), gainy wheat malty, grassy flavor. Not my thing.

Safeway, DC sixer ($9): Pours a golden colour with barely any head. Aroma is of sugary wheat beer, sometimes interspersed by some positive passion fruit action (too rarely though). Plenty drinkable, but utterly and completely lacking in character. Passion fruit who cares! Let’s make a beer that has no originality. A missed opportunity.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminisihing head. Yellow colour. MOderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Week fruity notes. Average light bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Clear yellow color, high carbonation. White head with some lace. Aroma is not nice AT ALL! Could remind you of cat urine. Taste isn’t much better. Skip this one.

Found this for the first time at the local this week, thought I’d give it a try. It came in a mixed 6 pack with 3 different brews. Pours a clear straw/gold color with a thin white head that dissipates to a cap. Smells of spicy wheat, a fruit that I assume is passion fruit, not much else. Taste is light, wheaty with a fruity tartness that I’ve never tasted before. I assume that fruit is passion fruit. Syrupy/watery mouthfeel, crisp carbonation, medium light body. Decent brew, again nothing spectacular, but would be great on a hot summer day.

Pours light gold into a snifter. White head quickly subsides to nothing. Sour butterscotch aromas. Sharp sour butterscotch and tropical fruits from front to back. Dry sour tropical fruit finish.

Sample at the brewpub in Kailua. The beer is a clear pale golden color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Tropical fruit and wheat in the nose. Light, clean body with flavors of sweet fruit, wheat and grainy malt. The finish is short and fruity. Just average overall.

12 oz bottle from Safeway Salinas. Nose mildly fruity with the passion fruit and a hint of banana and a little grassiness in the background probably from the hops. Lightly hazy yellow with a small pale yellow head. Flavor is passion fruit up front with some light sweetness.
