This barleywine is a collaboration with our good friends from Kaapse Brouwers in Rotterdam. A malty, strong brew with notes of caramel, dried fruit, molasses and sherry. This beer is excellent for aging. Stick a few bottles in your cellar, keep them upright, dark and cool, and let it improve with the years. Best enjoyed between 14–16°C with a good vinyl record when the nights are long and the air is cold.

At Bergen Ölfestival 2016. Dark brown with a small head. Sweetish with malt, caramel, some dried fruit and light chocolate. The body was full and the finish rather long.

33cl bottle. Murky ruby-brown pour with not much head. Metallic smell with notes of dried fruit and red grapes. Bitter and mouldy, with notes of home-made wine, alcohol and metal. Low carbonation and a harsh mouthfeel.

13.02.2016, 0,33l bottle sampled @ Bergen International Whisky & Beer Festival:
Tiny fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, almond essence, weeds, dried grain, alcohol, caramel malts, raisins, minerals. Taste is slightly harsh, weeds, bark, minerals, alcohol, almond essence, dried grain, paper. Longlasting harsh bitterness, dry medical mouthfeel. Meh!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Reddish color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly alcohol, some sweetness, a light hint of dark fruits. Medium body and carbonation. Quite nice.
