(Bottle) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, dark chocolate, sweet liquorice, oak wood and a touch of bourbon. Malty, roasted taste with sweet espresso, cacao, dark fruit, liquorice, oak wood, vanilla, a touch of bourbon and a warming finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made imperial stout with a good bourbon character. Great beer!

Tap @ Borefts 2014. Black. Vanilla, bourbon and caramel in the aroma. Full bodied. Caramelly sweet flavor with vanilla, bourbon, roast and licorice in the aroma. Alcoholic but fairly complex. The bourbon dominates.

At a tasting, thanks, very little head, opaque black color with brown hints, dominant dark bread aroma with vanila, coconut and a spicy hint, a bit too dominant vanilla and coconut flavor with smokey and charred hints. Good and enjoyable but not outstanding.

Flavor is moderate sweet, woody, coffee-ish. Medium bodied. Finishes with lots of roast, ashy, moderate bitter. Nice!

330ml bottle at Brian’s (thx Fiery_1!). BB Sep-2016. Pours an opaque brown with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate, leather, some nuts, grassy traces, vanilla and some bourbon notes. Boozy taste is sweet, roasted malt, leather notes. Burnt malt bitterness aftertaste. Good beer, but there is not enough notes peculiar to BBA beers, unfortunately.
