Nach dem vorzüglichen Export Hell (und ebenso vorzüglichen Ochsenbäckchen) noch das "Alto Dunkel", wieder vom Faß in der Maierbräu, Altomünster. - Kastanienrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase recht kerniges Dunkelmalz, Vollkornbrot, Waldbeerenkompott. - Antrunk eher schlank dunkel- und röstmalzig mit feinem Mokka. Dezente Süße, Waldfrucht, gut abgeschmeckt mit zarter Säure; sehr dezente, blaß zitrusfruchtige Hopfenherbe. Perlend rezent aber nur annähernd vollmundig. Im Abgang mild röstmalzbitter und nur vage herbal hopfenherb. - Nach dem schönen hellen Export tatsächlich leicht enttäuschend und ein weiteres Indiz, daß ich besser bei einem für gut befundenen Bier bleiben sollte, statt die begrenzte Genußfähigkeit mit dem Abhaken weiterer zu strapazieren. Bottle picked up from REWE, Altomunster, Saturday 18th March 2023, after a lovely afternoon at Xenofon and Anastasia's. Pours reddish brown with an off white head, simple light maltiness on the nose, light soft mouthfeel, watery caramel flavour. This is one of my least favourite styles and this is a very accurate indicator of a fairly unexciting style.

3/3/2020. From tap at Brunnstein Maierbrau, Munich. Pours mid-dark ruby brown with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, biscuit, dried fruits, plummy dark fruits and Demerara sugar. Medium plus sweetness and low bitterness. Oily texture, fizzy carbonation. It’s ok.

Pours a dark amber color with a small head. Malty aroma, light roasted, caramel, bread.

Weich malzig-herber Antrunk, dumpfe Röstnoten. Dennoch spritzig, die dumpfen Noten nehmen ab, sehr weich. Geringe Süße, brotig. Okay. 9/9/8/8//8

Bottle(otto holt koks): Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, smaller and slowly collapsing loose off-white head; mild sweetish nutty-toasty nose, mild traces of fruit-jam underneath; mild to moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied and quite soft; slightly lingering nutty-caramelly finish, some delicate bitterness in the aftertaste. Unspectacular, but nice...

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Slightly nutty, leafy and roasted malty aroma with notes of caramel and bread crusts. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly leafy and roasty malty aroma with notes of caramel/Blockmalz and traces of hoppy spice in the background; moderately sweet and roasted malty finish with nutty hints and Blockmalz sugar. Some nutty malt flavors. Sweet and low carbonation. Pours nicely with big head.. overall a little watery but still a decent beer.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, nussig, Karamell. Geschmack röstmalzig, leicht schokoladig, nussig, leicht würzig.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy nice caramellic aroma. Moderate bitter nice flavor with week chocolate notes. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.
