Making a beer using only raw ingredients from the Mühlviertel has been a vision our owner, Peter Krammer, has been working on since 2008. Unfortunately, beer-quality barley had all but disappeared from the Mühlviertel farming landscape in recent years. In 2010, the farmers of Hofstetten took matters into their own hands and began planting their own organic barley.
In order to secure the necessary amounts for production, four farmers work year-round, even through the winter, to produce high-quality barley for this beer. Of course, the organic hops come directly from our prized hop-growing region in Mühlviertel, as well.
Despite the quality of any other ingredient, beer can only be as good as the water that goes into it. This is why we work hard to maintain a 500,000 sq ft water preserve from which all our water is sourced.

Sehr helle, klare Farbe. Interessanter Geruch: Fruchtig / blumig / hopfig aromatisch. Geschmacklich bekommt man ähnliches. Die hopfenbittere, florale Note kommt hier besser raus. Getreide ist ganz klar ein zusätzlicher wichtiger Faktor. Wirklich wohlschmeckend, könnte aber intensiver und gehaltvoller sein. Im Endteil wird es etwas dünn. Auch die gute Hopfung kann nicht verhehlen, dass das ganze insgesamt etwas zu süffig ist. Dass die Zutaten aus biologischem Anbau stammen, ist aber natürlich ein großer Pluspunkt.

Klare gelbe Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, getreidiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, leicht brotig, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Dieses klassische helle Bier ist nicht nur Bio, sondern schmeckt auch noch ausgezeichnet. Ein leicht hopfiger Touch unterstreicht eine großartige Malzigkeit. Dies macht es unglaublich süffig und eine Freude zum trinken.

BB 10/2015. golden clear shiny color. small white head. smell of grain, tobacco, light sweetness, lightly flowery. medium body, soft carbonation, slick carbonation. tastes grainy, malty sweet, bread, tobacco, light herbs. finishes with light herbal bitter and light sweetness. rather sweet, taste is decent though. Overall OK.

Golden, clear body, with a big, frothy, white head.
Aroma of grass, citrus, flowers, some minty notes, bread, honey.
Tastes of grass, flowers, citrus, fresh herbs, sweet bread, some honey.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, grassy, floral, a bit herbal, a bit sweet.
Good. Fresh and easy, with nice floral and citric notes. Nothing special overall, but a clean and well balanced lager, without any of the unpleasant notes prominent in many lagers.

50cl bottle from Sebilinz, thanks! Pours light golden, thin white head. Sweet grainy malty, barley aroma, some hay. Flavor has sweetness, grain, hay. Light bitterness, semisweet finish. Medium bodied. Bit too sweet for my liking.

500ml bottle. Clear yellowish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly grassy hoppy aroma has a lemon touch, hints of green apple, minimally grainy, pale malty background. Taste is fresh bitter hoppy, minimally peppery biting, hints of lemon, minimally sweet pale malty basis with a grainy touch and fruity hints of apple. Refreshing, drinkable, well balanced - very nice!
