Montmorency vs. Balaton is our barrel-aged wild ale re-fermented with Montmorency and Balaton cherries. These distinct cherry varieties that are sourced from our friends at King Orchards in Michigan lend their own unique flavor to the final beer. We create a blend of mature barrel-aged beer, add the cherries at a very high ratio (5lb. per gallon), then let the fruit re-ferment to total dryness. To us, we feel "MvB" has a perfect blend of bursting pie cherry flavor and aroma, dry drinkability, and elegant tartness.

500mL bottle, pours an opaque dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lightly tart cherries, some light funk, and wood. Flavour is full of pitted cherries, with subtle tartness and some wood to finish it off. Quite a unique flavour profile to it. Woody, pithy and complex. Excellent.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a lovely pinkisk red with a slight haze and a small, white head. Amazing amareno-like cherry aroma, incredibly deliciois. Medium body, slightly tart, but more dry than really sour. Very intense cherry flavours. A little sulphur. Amazing really. 040914
