Our red ale is a cross between a northwest red ale and an India pale ale hence the style India red ale. The dark amber-colored brew uses a variety of crystal malts and premium 2-row malt as well as Munich malt to create a full bodied ale. Generous additions of Chinook, centennial and simcoe hops impart abundant hop character. Together the malts and hops generate a tasty rich and quaffable ale.

Tap at Brewdog Southampton Aug 2019. Pours hazed red brown with a cream head. Aroma: caramel malts, red berries, pine. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, earthy, minerals, spicy hop. Medium body, ample carbonation, light dry bitter finish.

Keg at BrewDog Leicester. Reddish drown, hazy with oy a spectre of white head. Malty and fruity aroma with resin, strawberry, bubblegum, spruce. It tastes more bitter than I wpuld have thought. The initial taste is sweet but it finishes with a chalky back-of-the-tongue bitterness with some sourness on the finish as well. Hard to taste a lot beyond that. Medium body, heavily carbonated. Very nice despite quite a few flaws.

Can: Deep golden to light amber coloured, hazy, stable and lacy medium-sized off-White head; caramelly-fruity nose with a more delicate herbal-hoppy Background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; moderate bitter-sweet cough-syrupy finish, some caramel detectable, hoppy aftertaste. Good, but surely not earth-shaking...

Würzig hopfiger Antrunk, süßlich, grasig. Wenig herb, etwas klebrig. Kaum herber im Mittelteil, der Hopfen bleibt intensiv, süffig. 10/11/11/10/9/10

From a can this has a mild but brisk IPA aroma. Makes my nose twinge. Looks like a darker hefe, slightly cloudy. Doesn’t look thick like most viscous ipa but the taste is there. Big strong and biting with a rather sharp taste. Hops in there and its not dull, fer sure. Does have some decent co2 but its overpowered by the astringent bitter bite. wew. Not impressed.

355 ml can. Clear pale red or a darker copper in the glass, nice one finger head. Hop on the nose, mango fruity in the second row. Starts great fruity, little bit caramell and a very pleasant hop bitterness. Later more smooth, honey, hints of resin. Recommended!
