1 l bottle from 'Getränke Hilgers', 4.8% abv, best before March 2025. Slightly hazy, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity aroma of grains, caramel, toasted nuts and traces of raisins. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity and minimally roasty taste of grains, caramel, toasted nuts, bread crust, some raisins and a touch of wet leaves, followed by a short, gently bitter, minimally dry finish. Medium body, quite smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very solid Alt, nicely hoppy and saturating.

1000ml bottle. Opalescent, dark ruby colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, pale sulphureous head. Cautious, slightly toasty, minimally nutty, malty aroma, hints of hazelnut, a touch of caramel. Taste is slightly toasty and nutty malty, slightly bitter and minimally grassy hoppy, hints of hazelnut, a touch of chestnut, caramel, very low residual sweetness. Light body, creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously dry palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well crafted, wonderful colour, good balance, nice nutty flavours - pretty decent.

In tap at the brewpub. Nice malty nose. The beer starts spicy-malty. Dry but highly drinkable. Roasted dry malt in the mainpart, hints of sweetness, dry caramel, spices. Mild. The aftertaste is long, intense, malty-spicy-roasted dry. Nicely bittered. --> Very nice and typical Alt! --> 13/13/12/12

Draught at the brauhaus
Dark mahogany color, not clear, with beige creamy head. Delicate aroma of malt and caramel. Soft and round mouthfeel; served not too cold and not too carbonated, just perfectly; dark caramel flavor, not too roasty, lean, with correct bitterness; in the final there is some more roasted nuts character, and very light residual sweetness; very fresh feeling.
A masterpiece of freshness and balance.
