Our brewing history begins with this beer. And the history of strong beer in Bavaria – it was the Paulaner monks who invented this bottom-fermenting double bock. We have been brewing the Salvator for over 375 years – always according to the original recipe, which has been continuously refined over the years. The head is the colour of caramel and the beer is chestnut brown, combined with a seductive flavour of chocolate to give a pleasing intensity on the palate. Along with this comes the finest Munich malt, rounded off by a light note of hops in the background. Often imitated but never duplicated: The father of all double bock beers, whose names always end in “-ator”!

Been a fan of this one since high school, I remember having it in 2004 and 2005. Rated it in summer 2017 in Dublin Irish Pub, Ohrid, Macedonia. Shared with lovely Anja. Murky amber, small creamy off-white head. Strong dried fruit aroma, honey, light toffee, some cherry jam and biscuit. Moderate to heavy sweetness. Sticky texture, medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish. A good Doppelbock.

24-07-18 // 500ml bottle from Maruhn. Absolute German classic beer. True Doppelbock. Almost clear chestnur brown.Nose dark malts caramel. Taste is sweet malty, caramel, toasted, fullbodied, mild bitterness. Good.

0,33 Bottle- SPAR. It's a great pleasure to taste it. I've never drank a beer I felt so high on the scent of quality malt. I felt: when I brew beer with my friend, in the minutes before hops added ... Beautiful beer, smells and color is unique. You don't feel honey, sticky sugars, even if the alcohol is high. Fantastic flavors. This beer I think is as perfect as it is. The most delightful surprise in the past year, though not the unique "world star" and the price it was not. For me it"s a world star though :)

Nagy öröm, hogy megkóstolhattam. Sosem ittam eddig olyan sört, aminek ennyire éreztem az illatán a minőségi malátát. Azt éreztem: amikor barátommal sört főzünk, a komlózás előtti percekben... Gyönyörű a sör, mellette komló is érződik az illatán, színe egyedi. Nem érezni mézes, ragadós cukrosságot, pedig alkoholfoka is magas. Malátás, fantasztikus ízek. Ez a sör szerintem úgy tökéletes ahogy van. Az elmúlt év legkellemesebb meglepetése, pedig nem akkora egyedi "világsztár" és az ára sem volt az. Nálam viszont világsztár :)

Kalea Advent Calendar. Sweet almost mead like aroma. Opaque dark amber. Long lasting thick creamy off-white head. Sweet with in an underlying bitterness, more so in the finish. Banana and honey. Herbs and spices. But malty and not OTT. Thick bodied. Creamy. A light fizz to the carbonation. Slightly astringent finish. Very easy drinking with some character to it.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma beige fine media persistenza, color ambrato carico/rosso torbido, al naso intenso malto tostato caramello miele, in bocca malto caramello biscotti e in fine alcool, carbonatazione leggera, corpo rotondo, oily, leggero dolce, l'alcool si sente, amaro accentuato lungo nel finale. Non sono un amante dello stile ma è una birra intensa e buona. 03.11.17

0,5 l bottle, BB 11/16. Okayyyyy ... Murky copper in the glass, an huge amount of sediments floating around. Mid sized pale beige head. Malty fruity smell. Taste is malty, little bit dry, berriefruity, mid alcoholic sharpness. Warming. Increasing alcoholic and bitterness to the end and in the aftertaste. Little bit like medicine. Good medicine.
