(bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, amber to golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly braedy malty aroma with hints of caramel, backed by shades of herbal hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, rather slim bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly bready cara-malt character with a mildly herbal and subtle fruity hoppy touch; moderately sweet and slightly bitter hoppy finish. Remind a bit of Beck´s Pale Ale, rather disappointing. 17.VI.15

Bottle from trade with Sebilinz, many thanks!

Gut trinkbar. 10/9/9/9/7/9

Bottle(Dank am Bodensee;-)!): Hazy, copper coloured, small and stable off-white head; mild resiny and herbal-hoppy nose, diluted cough-syrup or bread underneath; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied and not soft; shorter herbal-grainy finish. Not convincing…

Tap at Wiener Bier Fest. Aroma lots of caramel, then also light resiny orangey Amarillo. Clear orange colour. Solid white head. Taste is really rather neutral. Not bitter not sweet, not hoppy not malty. Lack of flavours. Easily drinkable but tastes like flavoured water.

bottle bought at Merkur. BB 05.11.2015. dark yellow almost clear color. small off-white head. smells light fruity, citric, grapefruity, oranges, light pines, some grass. decent smell, light sweetness. light body, slick carbonation and mouthfeel. tastes citric, rubber, rather herbal, oranges, some grass. herbal bitter finish. decent, liked the smell a bit better than the taste, which is a bit on the herbal side.

Bottle from Merkur, Hainburg. Amber color with medium white head. Aroma of malt caramel, citrus namely oranges, tangerines. Taste, malt, caramel, followed by citrus hops with oranges, tangerines, orange zest, notes of tropical fruits. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Not to much Amarillo here, very similar to last year’s pale ale.

330 ml bottle from a supermarket, had on 26.02.2015.
Amber, hazy body, with a medium, frothy, slightly yellow head.
Aroma of citrus, orange, slight other fruits, grains, some sweet malts.
Taste is quite thin, with about the same aromas.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation
Finishes moderate bitter, with grains, citrus and some sweet malts.

I was hoping for an obviously improved recipe to last year’s Pale Ale, because of the new name and the reference to the Amarillo hops, but this is pretty much the same beer as last year: quite OK, but not worth having again. Too bad about the Amarillo hops...
