Draught @ CBC2013. Pours blackish brown with a frothy mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace worth mentioning. Smell is malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, espresso coffee, cocoa powder, glue, dates, soil, hay, paint thinner, vanilla fudge, burnt cookies, caramel, charred wood, alcohol and hints of peat. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, high quality dark chocolate, solvent, glue, alcohol, moist soil, charred wood, hay, burnt caramel, vanilla fudge, bourbon and hints of peat and salty licorice candy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and malty with roasted malts, espresso coffee, high quality dark chocolate, burnt caramel, peat, salty licorice candy, acetone and hay. Basically it’s that same smooth solid Imperial Stout that is regular King Louie with a shot of acetone and paint thinner in it. Barrel aging didn’t do this beer much good.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Really dark brown almost black in the glass and it has a small islandy and sidesticking brown top. Lots of bourbon, vanilla and chocolate on the nose. A bit of zesty yeast as well. Really wood infused, a slight wood sourness also present and it had a mild bourbon touch. Dark feasted with lots of chocolate. Vanilla and some bitter coffee in the finish and lingering aftertaste. 04.05.2013

Tap Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 3. Pours black with a creamy brown head. Burnt wood in the nose, dark chocolate, hints of hard alcohol, dark fruits. Big sweet flavor with dried dark fruits, torched wood, dry dark malts. Some light red wine vinous character. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light dryness to finish, burnt sugars. Well done.
