A beer as unique as the place: The first and only Austrian beer with its own organic farm, malt house, roasting house and quality standards.
This pale, honey-colored specialty beer is brewed with the finest ancient Wildshuter grain, resulting in a balanced, full-bodied yet mild beer. Fresh notes of flowery yeast coupled with the flavor of Mühlviertel aromatic hops charm the nose. Velvety soft on the tongue while rounding off to a harmonious close, "Wildshuter Sortenspiel" leaves a long-lasting impression.

Bottle 25 cl. Pours deep golden with a slight haze and a neat and creamy, off-wite head. Rather fizzy pour. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of spice. Medium body, very fizzy mouthfeel. A dry mouthfeel with a slightly yeasty note. No real bitterness. One of those beers that sound so special and interesting but come out totally plain. 211125

Sampled as Sortenspiel Bio Urgetreide Cuvee Small whitish head over clear old-golden beer. Sweet nose, caramel, something as fruitsyrup. Toffee, maybe a touch of diacetyl. There's indeed a bit diacetyl, the drinking proves. Caramel again, faintly metallic. Diacetyl beefs up the thin body. Soft carbonation. Disappointing.

From 750ml bottle at a fair in Klagenfurt. Orange cloudy color, very small white head. Smells yeasty, grainy, smells like Krausen, also some underlying fruity note. Medium body, grainy / very bready taste, overall taste is quite limited, some dry / subtly bitter finish. Some underlying fruit notes develop after a while. Gets better on subsequent sips. Not too overwhelming but OK.
