16 oz can purchased at Lukas Liquors in Overland Park, Kansas. Canned 2017-12-01 stamped on bottom the can. The pour is an opaque black brown with a ½ inch khaki head that falls slow with splotchy lace. The aroma is roast malt, cream and cane sugar sweet. The taste is a lovely blend of the roast malt, cane sugar sweetness and finishing with the cream and a bit more char. The palate is medium to light bodied with soft natural carbonation and the sweet roast finish. Really nice take on the style.

500mL bottle. Black beer, tan head. Aroma is moderate dry roast, fume, dark chocolate, light tobacco. Most importantly is its dry, not sweet, and not overly roasted. Flavor is similarly dry and unsweet, a moderate malt bitterness. Very well attenuated and very Irish. This isn’t an African or Caribbean export stout.

Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, some liquorice, a nuttily touch. Taste is moderately sweet roasty dark malty, notes of coffee, hints of treacle, liquorice, a nuttily touch, some metallic bitterness.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with a suprising amount of grassy hops. Flavor is an obvious stellar roasted malt with slight sweetness. Finish has a little chocolate with some tootse roll like sweet finish. Solid stout and the roasted malt stays with you for a while.
