The scotch ale style, better defined as wee heavy, represents a Scottish-inspired beer, but which originates from the family of strong English ales. It is a rich and malty beer, which generally goes well with sweet flavors, but never cloying or one-dimensional.

Bottle, 75cl. A dense, finger-thick light beige head sits on top of a clear, light amber body. There’s a pleasant smoked touch in the aroma, lightly peaty, as well as dried fruits, caramel sauce and grass. Some alcohol warmth in the swallow, it’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. The flavor has a hint of anise, but caramel and dried fruits dominates. Pleasant level of peat malt, which I’m normally not too fond of. Nice bitterness in the finish. I could certainly drink more of this. 121109

Corpo medio, consistenza oleosa, carbonazione corretta. Elegante, raffinata e complessa, fa piacere vedere come un birrificio così giovane esordisca già a questi livelli.
