Trübe goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, getreidiger, fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, fruchtig, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Getrunken als Rieder Naturtrüb, also ohne 1908. Anderes Etikett aber ebenfalls in der Bügelflasche und ebenfalls mit 5,2 % Alk. Apropos Etikett. Das weist auch Weizenmalz aus Zutat aus. Das ist schon mal recht ungewöhnlich für ein Zwickl. Herb-fruchtiger Geruch. Das setzt sich auch im Geschmack fort. Strohig, getreidige Nuancen ergänzen. Gehaltvoll, gute Substanz - trotzdem noch süffig. Könnte vielleicht etwas harmonischer und etwas weicher sein. Trotzdem ein richtig gutes Zwickelbier.

(swing top bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a loose foamy white head. Grainy and mildly yeast-spicy malty aroma with strawy notes. Strawy malt character with grainy spots and shades of herbal hops in the background; moderately sweet and restrained bitter hoppy finish with a mildly chalky touch. Mediocre. 17.VI.15

50cl swing top bottle bought in Austria. Pours slightly hazy golden colour with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of pale malt, straw, dry hops. Taste of mild grainy pale malt, mild floral hops, easy to drink, okay!

500 ml flip-top bottle as "Rieder Naturtrüb" from a supermarket in Linz, bb 23.06.16.
Golden, hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of corn, grains, some bread, honey, some floral notes.
Taste follows this, with some more grass, and slight herbs.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, medium sweet, grainy, floral, a bit herbal.

Nothing special. Quite flat, with corn notes I don’t like too much. Not exactly a bad beer, but I’ve had much better beers from this brewery.

Bügelverschlußflasche( many thanks to Stockach!):Pale golden, hazy, small head; mild sweetish-grainy nose with some strawy spots; mild sweetish flavour, bitterness barely detectable, light to medium bodied and a bit fizzy; sweetish fruity-grainy finish with very delicate hoppy traces. Not too bad, but pretty monotonous…

bottle, Spar Ried im Innkreis. Hazy golden with a white head. Malty base, slightly ghrainy, nice fruity yeasty accents, floral and herbal hops towards the finish. Delicious!

Ein Zwickel, das noch als solches kommt -mit brotigen Brotnoten und fruchtigen Fruchtnoten. Ein wirklich gut gelungenes Zwicklbier, das nicht zu Bauerntölpelhaft ist, gute Erfrischung bietet und doch nicht zu brav und abgeleckt ist. Damals war es mir zu durchschnittlich, heutzutage weiß ich solche Nuancen mehr zu schätzen und würde es gerne wieder einmal kosten.
