Weizen Unser Dunkel's

Bottle picked up locally and consumed at home Thursday 11th April 2024 listening to Huw Stephens on 6Music as it is Round Table tonight. Cooking a Spinach & Ricotta Lasagna. Pours chestnut brown, hazy with an off white head. There is a pleasant mouthfeel, buzzy carbonation, some caramel in the flavour department, it is a little bready, it’s a fine if slightly underwhelming Dunkelweizen.

Außerhalb des Landkreis Freyung-Grafenau kaum zu bekommen, da von einer kleinen Brauerei mit recht lokalem Verbreitungsgebiet. Der Schaum und der erste Antrunk ist recht medizinisch, wird dann aber schnell trinkbar, süffig und sehr erfrischend. Spezielle, recht säuerliche, leicht herbe Note. Bei sommerlichen Temperaturen sicher eine gute Wahl. Könnte allerdings für ein dunkles Weizen etwas (röst)malziger, süßer und generell etwas harmonischer sein. Kommt so nicht an das hervorragende helle Weizen von Bucher ran.

Bottled 500ml. -from Getränke Degenhart, Grafenau. Murky amberish coloured, medium to big sized off-white head, pleasant banana and light caramel nose. Sweetish malty, light yeasty and spicy with touch of dried fruits and subdued banana. Not bad at all.

50cl bottle. Pours hazy dark orange golden colour with a huge very big beige foam. Aroma of ripe banana, dark malt, caramel. Taste of phenolic yeast, caramel, bread, dark fruits.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Cloudy brown colour, large beige head. Fruity nose. Fruity and yeasty with hints of roasetd malt and caramel. A hinbt of warming alcohol is also present.
