Collaboration with The Hanging Bat, this is ridiculously drinkable at it's ABV. A sticky, sweet beer similar to a barleywine but with the spiciness of rye to boot. Caramel, candied fruit and leathery notes add to the complexity of this beer.

Bottle from bottledog. Aroma is rye and weirdness, boozy. Taste is rye and not so much else. Was hoping for more excitement for the percentage.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Kris Wines. Bottled in October 2014. The beer pours a rather attractive clear ruby-orange with a thick, creamy light tan head. The aroma holds spicy and lightly toasted grains, pine trees, ripe and leathery berries. Medium sweet flavour with lots of rich, ripe and gooey berries, oily pine, moderate bitterness, toasted toffee and a whip of alcohol. Full bodied and somewhat chewy, with velvety carbonation and creamy texture. Well and warming to finish, with more rye grains, some ripe orange, marmalade, slight mineral notes, more berries, spicy rye, toasted grains, hints of toffee, some woody dryness. Overall, this is great stuff. I think the aging has probably helped to mellow this one, and I would even say it could stand a bit more time in the bottle. But as it is now, it is richly layered and highly enjoyable. A wonderful sipper.
