0,33 l bottle from rhoihessegold. Thanks a lot! Listed with 8.0% abv. on the label. Black with reddish edges in the glass. Two finger foamy beige head. Looks really good. Intensive malt choco vanilla smell. Taste starts with a lot of cold coffee, choco, some vanilla and a sweetness in the second row. Little bit dry. Decent alcoholic. Really nice.

*@ Craft Mainz 2017. Chocolate, Vanilla. Smooth with grainy hints. Deep and sessionable, chocolate, ripe fruit, smooth and round. Very nice.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. The tan head is, well, very fizzy and betrays the relative high level of carbonation in the brew. It soon vanishes. The nose is chocolate and ink. The taste is the beer’s strength, which is not to imply a lot of depth, but there are notes of cherry, chocolate, and candy cane set atop a roasted caramel undertone. Again, the fizzy palate is very noticeable and somewhat jarring. I tend to like my stouts more sedate, creamy, bittersweet. Süffig. This is dry, sweet, at times reminiscent of a beer/soda mix. Points for creativity, but I’m not convinced.

Brotig herber Beginn. Leichte Hopfigkeit, konstant bleibend. Süffig, rund, Nuancen von Schokolade, sehr trocken zum Ende. Gut. 10/8/10/9//9

Sampled @ Craftbier Messe Mainz 2016. Dunkel orange braune Farbe, mittelgroße beige schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, trocken, schokoladig. Geschmack süß schokoladig, röstmalzig, Vanille, gut!

25-11-16 // sample at CraftBeerMesse Mainz. Dark brown beer, creamy head. Good malty nose with some coffee. Taste is malty, light roasted, chocolate, coffee, light vanilla. Light creamy texture.
