355ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, better than minimally lacing, off-white head. Resinous, minimally sweaty, slightly citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of mint and eucalyptus. Taste is bitter hoppy, herbal, minimally citrusy, notes of eucalyptus and mint, a touch of woodruff, caramel malty basis with subtle sweetness.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a lazing, off-white. Sweet, fruity and perfumy hops, combined with caramel. Rich, malty sweet body, plenty of caramel, very bitter finish. Not the most sophisticated IPA, but it works. 290216

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, hops, malt, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Another single hop Crooked Tree experiment by Dark Horse. Pours dark orange, with average creamy diminishing off-white head. Fair lacing. Totally chunky, medium to full body, with bitter aftertaste. Average malts, cookie and caramel. Heavy hops, mostly pine and citrus. Moderately bitter. Can’t say I liked it as much as I expected.

Bottle from CBC Newton, drunk 8/30/15.
Chunky, drab olive-copper with a beige head that is medium-sized and quickly dissipating.
Fruity (apples, cherries, oranges) hop notes in the nose give way to lightly dirty (yeast?) notes, with light caramel and brown bread maltiness. There’s some light pine, typical orange rind/grapefruit character and not much, if any brightness.
I don’t know if this bottle is just old? I would expect Craft Beer Cellar to keep fresh bottles on hand, but I guess you never know....Lemon-lime citrus with a hard, crystal malt-like texture, scratchy brown bread graininess and loose/low carbonation. Tons of dirtiness/dullness and not a whole lot to get excited about here. Maybe some diacetyl as well? Again, it’s hard to feel too bad for breweries that don’t date their hoppy beers.
