500 ML swing top bottle from Total Wine, Naples FL. Perfect eye appeal. Deep hazy gold with lively carbonation. Lots of retention coating the weizen glass all the way down. Nose and taste is all about the yeast, as it should be! Banana and wheat yeast has a long lingering duration after the sip. Light spicy note in the main body. The mouthfeel is on the dry side. I can only imagine how great this would be on draft. This bottle must be on the fresh side. God bless the Reinheitsgebot!

500ml flip top bottle. Unfiltered yellow-orange. Lively cabonation, filled with fast rising bubbles. Massive foamy white head. Pleasant, clean, clove-banana aroma. An authentic German Hefeweizen is always a treat, and this is a great example. Bright, clean flavor, even with the creamy yeasty tones. Has great depth..clove, orange, banana, creamy vanilla. Excellent, World Class beer.

Strong clove nose, lemon base, with only hints of banana. Hazy amber, thick head. Bread, dough, graham cracker, and banana flavor. Very representative of the hefeweizens I enjoyed when living in Germany many years ago. This, while lacking in some of the banana esters I like, features other delicious flavors and aromas characteristic of the style. Wonderful.

Flip-top bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy darkish gold with a 3 finger creamy white head that’s fizzing away. Aroma is warm bread, banana and spice. And citrus. Med body. Flavor is banana, clove followed by wheat. Then the banana, clove comes out again. Aroma even seems to be a touch barnyard, but banana, clove again and again. This is a pretty tasty hefe. I’ve had more banana, clove but this works really well.

Bottled. Pale gold, cloudy. Aroma of banana, citrus, slight bit of dry earth. Tangy flavor, citrus balancing sweet malts, Banana is subdued. Not all that complex but somewhat dry and balanaced.

(Bottle at Timo A’s tasting, thanks) Yellow and hazy. Medium sized and quickly disappearing white head. Banana and fruitiness in aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, sweetness, fruitiness, banana, little bit of caramell, light bitternessa and some grass in taste. Fruity and malty aftertaste.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Hazy golden colour with big fluuffy/foamy head, that leaves nice lace. Aroma is lots of banana, wheat, citrusfruits and some slight herbal and spicy notes as well. Flavour is wheat, some banana and mild herbal and yeasty notes. Aroma is just lovely, but flavour leaves a bit simple and even watery.

Bottled (Beerangel, BB 10/2009). Flip-top. Hazy yellow color, decent white head. Spicey, a bit sour, banana nose. Crispy carbonation. Wheaty, semi-sweet banana flavor with some spiceyness. Weak cardboard notes. Quite light palate. Refreshing, but a bit too simple.
