Bottled. Hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is citrus, some spices, mild wheat, yeast and coriander. Flavour is citrus, coriander, some wheat, mild bready notes with some slight yeasty notes as well.

Bottle Blonde. Wheaty flavor with a hint of citrus. No specific aroma. Soft glue like notes. Not unpleasant, but nothing special.

Gekocht op het bierfestival te Wenduine op 17-06-2017. Haanse Witte is een troebel en blond biertje dat bij het uitschenken een grote hoeveelheid wit schuim geeft in een rotsachtige structuur. Het blijft sterk aan het glas kleven en zakt daarna wat in elkaar, na een tijdje blijft er nog een gelijkmatig laagje over van ongeveer 1 mm dikte. Zeer weinig CO2 verzadiging met fijne belletjes. Er is na het uitschenken ook een gist-wolkje te zien. Het aroma van Haanse Witte is wat gistbitter met wat citrus een toetsje tarwemout en ook een licht zurig toetsje. De smaak van Haanse Witte is licht bitterig en zoet met ook wat tarwemout. In de mond krijg je een volle smaak met een volmondige textuur en een normale prikkeling van het CO2 gas. Een harmonieus biertje. De nasmaak vloeit uit en is slechts in de verte wat bitter, ook zoetig en wat tarwemoutig met nog een heel klein zurig toetsje. Een lichtbitter witbiertje met enkel het lichtzure toetsje als verrassing. Toch niet slecht. F: big, white, frothy, average lasting. C: yellowish, hazy, opaque. A: malt, coriander, metallic notes, spicy, hint of orange peels, soapy, yeasty, harsh lemon, dusty. T: malty, citrusy, coriander, orange, grassy/floral bitterness, yeasty, spicy, light to medium body, lively carbonation, average beer nothing special, 0,33l bottle from Delhaize in De Haan.

Bottle shared. Fairly hazy blond with a white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat, coriander and yeasty notes. Flavour is above light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with light carbonation.

33cl bottle: best before 19 Oct 2012, poured into a ’Hougaerdse DAS’ badged tumbler on 7 Aug 2012. Slight haze to this pale yellow/light golden beer: on top a swiftly leaving white head that started thin and soon became a wisp and collar. Wheaty smell, with yeast esters and some coriander hints: add citrusy notes too. The taste is typical Belgian Witbier (I default towards Hoegaarden for this): refreshing and semi-bitter/sour with orange/coriander thoughts. Not a huge fan of this style, but this is one of the best I’ve come across.
