Draft @ the brewpub. Clear light brown/amber sporting a decent white head. Aroma of caramel and herbs. Taste of caramel, malt lozenges, dark bread, honey and a little hint of chocolate. Moderate herbal bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overall I think it’s too sweet and artless leaving me quite unimpressed.

Light brown with a frothy, off-white head. Chocolate and stale dark bread aroma. Grains. Taste is mildly bitter with a mildly grainy finish. Medium to light-bodied. Uneventful.

On tap at the brewpub. A clear orange brown beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramelish red malt. Taste of caramelish malt, nuts, low bitterness, okay.

Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy chestnut colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Cautious malty aroma, a touch of malt lozenge, grainy-yeasty-doughy overtones. Taste is grainy, dark malty, some malt sweetness, overlaid by a husk and carbonation generated prickling, even a minimally soapy touch. Sticks to the long out-dated late 80s standard, typical for German "Hausbrauereien", then trying to capture an atmosphere of healthy, ’back-to-the-roots", rural immaculacy simply by producing a trivial, husky, strawy, non-filtered Helles and grainy Dunkels respectively, completing the line-up with a thin, pale and sourish Weizen. Hey guys, consumers’ expectations have changed!
