650ml bottle. Murky, copperish-brown colour, amber glimmer, with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Nuttily, malty aroma, notes of toffee, ephemeral fruity overtones with hints of red berries and stone fruit. Taste is initially minimally tart-ish, dry fruity, hints of red berries, later minimally sweet malty, some toffee, a touch of caramel. Unconvincing.

Bottle from Marketplace Alehouse and Deli, Doncaster. Clear, reddy amber. Thin, lasting, off white head. Sweet, spicy malt. Some vanilla. Taste is vanilla sweet. Spicy dry. Bit of chew on the palate. Finishes light dry. Still some sweet on the close. Not normally my thing, but I enjoyed this.

Bottle, 22oz. A clear, dark amber beer with a dense, light beige head that lasts. There’s something almost dms-like in the aroma, with caramel, a faint roasted hint and some dried fruit, prunes mostly. There’s a little alcohol warmth in the mouth, it’s smooth on the palate and full bodied, with flavors of prunes, caramel and a faint bitterness. Rather sweet, with some puke like hints. Not sure about this one, but it certainly didn’t impress. 130813
