Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity hoppy notes and yeast, with hay and wooden notes, as well as malts with cereals and toffee.

Uit een flesje in café Kompaan, Doetinchem. Troebel goud, geen schuim. Fris aroma, stevige smaak, licht zoet en prima bitterheid.

Saison in this charming Bird series, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Medium thick, irregularly edged, egg-white, mousy head on a misty deep and warm orange-peach blonde beer. Aroma of dried peaches, cloves, bread crust, dried bitter herbs and old 'herbes de Provençe', banana, bread crust, apple peel, orange zest. Fruity, crisp onset, peach, pear and light banana notes, lively carbonation, soft bready malt fluffiness, bread crust-like aspect, lightly caramelly; dryish finish with floral, spicy hop bitterness well-balanced with the malt and ester sweetness, accompanied by some spicy phenolic notes. Quenching, classically 'Belgian' style saison rather than any of those modern Anglo-Saxon sour 'farmhouse ales', Dupont-ish but less complex in its yeast profile. Technically flawless though, and quite refreshing on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Golden color. Orange and a hint if chloride in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweetish. Floral. Some herbal notes in the finish. Fairly tasty.
