Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered and dry hopped.

On tap at Fools Gold. It pours a light orange color with a creamy off white head. The aroma is a little herbal with some weed and lime. The flavor has more orange tea, weed, some flowers, melon and citrusy lime. A little honey and graham cracker-like maltiness. Solid citrusy bitterness. Really nice.

Growler shared by jc1762. Thanks Jon! I thought I had had this one before - I may have and I might have just not rated the beer. Anyway... this one poured a really hazy, cloudy light orange color with a small white head. Aroma was blast of grapefruit zest, very light sweet malt notes. Flavor was nice, zest, light tropical fruit. Pretty tasty.

Tap into a nonic pint showing unfiltered dark orange with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows subtle and mild grapefruit with light malts. The palate is medium bodied and fully carbonated. Flavors of very light grapefruit and subtle malt into a mid-palate of light citric acidity. The finish shows a light grapefruit zesty bitterness.

(On tap @ Warpigs HF Day, Copenhagen, May 12 2016) Pours a hazy gold with a large dense white head and some lace. Aroma of grapefruit, moderate pine, leafy, floral, subtle orange/lemon zest and tropical fruit, just a little malt sweetness and bread beneath. Flavour is pine, grapefruit and lemon peels, leafy, slightly floral, a bit juicy, subtle bready malt core. Lightly sweet to begin, finishing dry with lasting moderate bitterness, pine/leafy/floral aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation, fairly crisp. Good balance in general, a touch on the bitter side for a more modern east coast APA but a very good drinker.
