Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A very dark brown beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of soft smoked dark malt, liquorice, hints of chocolate. Taste of strong mid sweet dark malt, caramel, chocolate, hints of liquorice.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black, small head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts strong, malty, stouty, earthy. Hints of coffee, some bitter chocolate. Bitter background with syrup notes. Finish earthy-malty, also a bit metallically. Not bad.

Many thanks to dorain for organising a 1l-bottle for me! Smooth rich beginning. Deep roasted, but as dorain describes not as deep or complex as it could be. Very dry and roasted, but for this ABV a bit too uninteresting. Smooth dry roasted finish, round and smooth with a nice bitter dry roasted ending, but not as great as it could be. Dry roasted caramel, burned toffee there. Easy to drink for that ABV.

Vom Fass im Stone Brewing Berlin 2018-02 getrunken. Im kalten, frisch gezapften Zustand läßt dieses Bier kaum einen Bierstil erkennen. Da sind sehr undefinierten Aromen im Glas unterwegs. Dafür ist es überraschend süffig. Mit der Zeit und mehr Wärme kommen leichte Schokoladen- und Kaffeearomen auf. Doch im Großen und Ganzen bleibt dieser Berliner Pilot noch ganz weit hinter dem älternen Bruder aus Escondido zurück. Nein es ist wie gesagt sehr süffig, aber das war es auch fast schon. Bei einem Imperial Stout muß einfach mehr passieren zumal der ätlere Bruder aus Escondido eins meiner Lieblingsbiere von Stone ist. Daher sag ich mal - leider ein belangloses Bier. Bitte ein neuer Versuch Stone Berlin!
