I bought 12 of this bottle even though i have never tasted it, so this is getting a bit interesting. pours extremely black with a nice brown to dark brown head. Looks pretty solid. medium to strong aroma of roasted malts, and lots and lots of roasted malts. flavor is head on roasted malts, good bitterness, long lasting malty bitterness, palate is thick and oily, the beer is dry, especially in the aftertaste. A very, very solid imperial stout with an aftertaste that lasts for minutes and is by itself a lot more intense than many so called imperial stouts are when you drink them. potent stuff. i'll save the other 11 bottles for when i really crave a big imp. stout. This is so good by itself that i recon it will probably become a bit less good in various barrel versions, but perhaps one or two kinds of barrels will become crazy good.

Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours cloudy black with a lasting, thick, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee roast, cream, prune, toast, cashew, black pepper, dried tea leaves, wood, whisky. Taste is full-on maltiness with sweet chocolate, dates & prune, burnt caramel, a bit creamy yet bitter touches of spicy pepper, toast & coffee roast peek out as well as a faint umami hint. Dry, earthy, herbal hoppy finish, toasty, more dark chocolate & warming whisky alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Textbook Imperial Stout but excels in every department.

Really good beer, above avg inperial stout, but not remarkable. Maybe because it’s not so forward, but instead a good balance of hops, medium richness, but the body and lively freshness is lacking. Online saveur bier. Bottled 18 months ago

Fles 35,5cl thuis. Goed bitter, flink roasted malts, vol en romig, teer, zoetje, liquorice, zuren, pure chocolade, koffiedrab, wat droog, donker fruittonen, wat boozy. Redelijk complex. (19-3-2020).

Ausgezeichnetes Imperial Stout wie man das von Founders erwarten kann. Schön ausgewogen zwischen Schokolade und Kaffee. Auch optisch ein Genuss.

Svartbrun vätska med mörkt skum. Aromer av kakao, kaffe och röda bär. Kaffe och kakao i smaken. Något gräddig munkänsla. Värmande eftersmak utan störande alkoholinslag.
