Pinz Schwarzbier, Flasche von Edeka Kaiser, Fleisbach. - Dunkles Schwarzbraun, blickdicht; üppiger dunkler Schaum. - In der Nase warm röstig-karamelsüßes dunkles Malz, Mokka, Vanillezucker, Toffee und runde hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Antrunk füllig und weich röstmalzig mit Vollkornbrot, Toffee, stark gesüßtem Kaffee und dezenter herbal-hopfenwürziger Herbe. Milder rezent, hefig weich. Fein kaffeebitterer und gar nicht so knapp hopfenherber, leicht trockener Abgang. - Statt des erwarteten schlanken (d.h. dünnen) Schwarzbieres nach Köstritzer Art ein satt dunkelmalziges, weich mokkaschokoladiges Bier mit intensiven aber runden Röstaromen. 500ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, minimally grainy, bready and strawy, dark malty aroma, a touch of pumpernickel, cautious fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of dark berries. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally sourish and metallic, a touch of dark berries. Infected?

From the bottle. Dark brown with a beige, frothy to creamy crown. Aroma of blackened toast and coffee grounds. Taste is full of roasted bitterness with just a touch of milk chocolate sweetness to round out an otherwise burnt and grainy finish. Medium body and a bit oily. Ok but nothing remarkable.

Sampled @ Craftbier Messe Mainz 2018. A very dark brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark moderate roasted malt, some coffee and chocolate. Taste of sweet dark chocolate malt, coffee, moderate roasted malt.

On tap in Mainz 2018. Roasted grainy beginning. Caramel, moderate bitterness, round and grainy with a dry roasted and medium bitter aftertaste.
