Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, grain, soft fruity notes, light bready, touch of cardboard. Flavour is moderate sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is light to medium, a bit weak. Drinkable but very unremarkable.

On tap at Zum Wohl Vienna. A tiny bit opaque golden body with a lasting moderate-sized white head. Aroma and taste of grainy malts and floral hops with some yeast notes and even a drop of lemon juice. I enjoyed it.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Gluten Free. Hazed orangey golden colour, white foam head and aroma of fruity yeast, hops. Taste is sweetish, malt, grains, wheaty, with yeasty, banana hint, fruity notes and some earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying tangy bitter finish. Quite OK.

21/10/2023. Bottle shared at EBGP. From Marek. Pours clear dark golden amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, malty, veggie. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Quite fizzy. Okay.

Bottle 33 cl. Comes as Gusswerk Glutenfrei Lager. Made with barley, rice and maize - not sure why this qualifies as a Specialty Grain. Pours an almost clear amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly toffeeish nose. Medium body, slightly caramellish malt with a hint of tartness. Quite some bittering hops. 200923

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Getreidiger, leicht hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich getreidig, leicht hopfig mit Mais. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Getrunken als „Gusswerk Lager Glutenfrei“. Enthält neben Gerste auch Mais und Reis. Außerdem Wasser, Hopfen, Hefe - und sonst nix. Und das auch noch in Bio. Mit 4,9 % Alk. normal stark (oft gehen glutenfreie Biere nur als Schank- und nicht als Vollbier durch). Schöne kräftige Farbe. Das bin ich bei Bieren dieser Art (leider) anders gewohnt. Auch geschmacklich gibt es da nix auszusetzen - das kann man durchaus als normales Helles (in Österreich sagt man „Märzen“) bezeichnen. Eine gewisse Malzsüße, etwas Frucht und florale Noten. Hopfenaromatik könnte gerne mehr sein. Ein gut gemachtes Bier. Tatsächlich das erste Bier in der Art, dass auch den Nicht-Allergikern schmecken könnte (allerdings hab ich in der Kategorie noch nicht viel probiert).

Bottle. Color: Clear golden to amber, off-white head. Pretty dark for a lager, nice color. Arom: Hop and malt. Taste: Hop, malt, notes of caramel (more than other lagers I've tasted). Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Pretty smooth. Malty finish. Nice lager.
