2012 (13.8%) draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is raisins, candisugar, oaky vanilla extract, and light bourbon. Clear rusty cherry with a small lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, lightly sweet with only a light bourbon note. So good on draft I bought their last 3 bottles.

Taste is light sweet and meidum bitter with notes of citrus/pine, bourbon and toffee. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really nice American style barley wine.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out deep dark dried fruits, caramel, moderate presence of whiskey and bourbon barrels and alcohol. Flavour brings out loads of whiskey barrels upfront, ridiculous booziness, sweet caramel and more booze. The barrels are dominating - front and centre - with no restraint on the alcohol. Way too boozy and not very complex at all to be enjoyable for me. It was a big chore to drink more than a few ounces.

Bottle 4997/5520 thanks to timfoolery: Poured a burnt orange bottom that flowed into a mahogany body forming a thin tan head. Aroma is a strong dark fruits figs, raisin, nice woods and vanilla as well. Taste is up front bourbon and vanilla which slowly subsides to sweet caramel and dark fruit. Finishes sticky on the tongue with some spice and hops residue.

Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, wood, alcohol, caramel, and some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, lots of alcohol, wood, vanilla, whiskey, as well as some fruits, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol burns lightly on the palate.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of thome50. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a tiny, rough white head. Overripe fruit, caramel and heavy booze. Medium body, lowish carbonation, caramel and sweet oak, some licorice allsorts - and massive booze, actually appears stronger than 13.8%. No real bitterness. 131112
