100% Simcoe hops make up this beer from start to finish! It is named for the location in the experimental hop yard in Yakima, WA, where it was first created. Simcoe is grown by 3 families in the Yakima area, from all of whom we buy this particular hop (and other hops) — Carpenter, Perrault, and Smith. This is one of several beers we plan to make in our NEW “Hop Grower’s Series” highlighting certain hops from our growers! It has that trademark Simcoe nose with citrus and pine, nice bitterness and tasty hop flavors round it out.

Pint in the Public House, Temecula on 20th Dec 2017. Amber pour, decent white head. Tropical fruits in the nose with pine forest behind it. Taste as the aroma, tropical fruits to the fore with those trees in the background. Simple, easy drinking Pale Ale.

Tap at Neighbourhood, San Diego, 22nd November 17. Clear, slight head. Aroma is floral, perfume, light citrus. Taste is light floral, citrus, pith and bitter. Reminds me of a lower ABV Pliny.

Light blond, touch of cheesiness in the orchard fruit hop nose. Bitter, fruity, with just a touch of malt chewyiness.

Draft sample at the brewpub, Santa Rosa. Clear golden light orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is light pine, hint of caramel, little citrus. Nice layered hops on the aroma. Flavour is composed of semi sweet grains, little biscuit. Pine needle. Wood. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation , slight sticky hop resin. A very well rounded APA.

Sampler at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Peach, some tropical characteristics. Dry and straightforward fruity. Just my liking! Great drinkability, perfect bitterness, great brewing skills. Just an excellent American Pale Ale with some new tropical aromas in there.
