Bottle. Big wheaty notes, a spicy edge, touch of banana and dry, yeasty finish. Not sure if this is ’true to style’, but I enjoyed it.

Clear golden copper coloured body with a thin, soapy white head. Aroma of wheat, cardboard, caster sugar, soap and very mild yeast - pretty mild. Light-bodied; Sharp wheat and yeast flavour at first with a good kick of light spices and yeast with a little sweetness at the end. Aftertaste is mild, yet shows some good clove and coriander seed freshness, with a touch of corn at the very end. Overall, a decent beer, not so horrible, but not showing much flavour at all. Definitely good to try, especially after all the time and the 15,000 miles to bring it back! I sampled this 345 mL bottle purchased from a bottle shop in Circular Quay, Sydney, NSW, Australia on 24-July-2008, sampled at home in Washington nearly three years later on 05-February-2011.

Pours amber with a tiny fading head.Nose shows typical doughy wheat, some light phenols along with a hint of lemon.Similar flavours but with the addition of a lot of sweet, characterless and unchallenged malt.Very high carbonation and watery body.

Pale gold, white head. Smells of wheat, flowers and weeds. Taste is much the same with some quite subtle malt sweetness and touches of citrus and metal. Decent thirst-quencher. I remember when this was a revelation, but there you go.

Bottle. Clear golden with no head. Pleasant aroma esters / banana with some hops. Medium palate with plenty of carbonation. Flavour has a fruity start (mango / banana) with a hint of spice developing into some hoppy bitterness in the finish. A pleasant, but not exceptional beer.

Bottled. A golden beer with a disappearing white head - hmm, it seems filtered, so maybe it is a Kristalweizen. The aroma is sweet wheaty combined with notes of oranges and light banana notes. The flavor is sweet malty and wheaty with light banana notes. The body is a bit light.

(Bottle 34,5 cl) This beer is pure nostalgia to me. I remember having this in 1988 back at the Matilda Bay brew pub in Fremantle, when the beer was all new and exiciting. So how was the revisit?:
Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small, off-white head. Vague wheat aroma with some yeast. Rather light-bodied, slightly sweet. Weak accents of fruit and yeast before a dry finish. Mostly resembles an American Wheat in style. Far from greatness, but thanks to highlandlad, for bringing back sweet memories. 140506

Bottled. Pale golden colour, not much head. Aroma is wheat and bitter hops (?), it’s quite special. Weak sour fruitiness too. Flavour is malts, wheat and hops with weak bananaish hints... Aftertaste is wheaty and fruity. Not the typical German Hefeweizen.... Rich carbonation.
