During the 19th Century beers were exported to India, these were well hopped and of a high alcoholic strength to enable the beer to survive the long journey. They became known as India Pale Ale. In Celebration of our Anniversary we have created a beer in this style. Also available in bottles We have been celebrating after winning a Silver Award for our Thirst Celebration India Pale Ale . The beer was entered into the SIBA North West beer competition in the Premium Strong Beers category. Thirst Celebration is the perfect accompliment for cheese. Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - golden with a nice fluffy head. Nose - peaches, light medicinal. Taste - oh, loads of orange. Somewhere between concentrated orange squash and an orange liqueur spirit. Then there’s a layer of toffee over it. Palate - medium bodied. Tangy texture through the middle part. Tangy but slightly sweet on the finish. Overall - this kind of falls between an IPA and an English Strong Ale.

500ml bottle from the Crafty Pint, Darlington Market. Pours an orange golden amber colour, off-white foam head that dissipates and aroma of malt, resin, citrus, oaky wood. Taste is sweet malty caramel, oak, vanilla along with fruity resiny notes and a spicy bitterness. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable IPA.

500ml bottle picked up at the excellent Microbar in Manchester and carried home for a drinking session with Finn. Firm off-white head, some of remaining. Next to clear amber coloured body. Smell is dry with leafs and resin. Dried fruity taste added by bready malts, rather jam-like. Fruit bitter ending. Oily palate. Quite likable, a bit heavy to drink though (Tromsø, 18.07.2012).

Flaske 0,5l påspandert av og delt med Rune under middag i WC74 18 Jul 12. Lysebrun. Høyt luftig skum. Forsiktig fruktig aroma. Smaken er søt aprikos & blomster med hint av mandler. Syrlig bitter ettersmak. Søtt helhetsinntrykk. Litt tung-drikkelig. Lite som minner om en IPA.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Moderately sweet and bready malty, also slightly nutty aroma with a discreetly hoppy touch. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Bready malt-character with notes of cookies and marzipan; sweet malt-accented finish with almondy notes and a subtle fruity and vinous finish. 15.XII.10

Bottle: Deep golden, mid-sized stable white head,bisquity and bready nose with a light hoppy touch; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; increasing citrussy hoppiness in the bisquity-malty finish. Well drinkable, a bit simple.....
