A full-bodied pale ale, it’s sweet rather than bitter, with some caramel and fruit notes.

Bottle. One of the best pale ales I have had. Deep golden Color with nice head and great lace. Wonderful balanced flavor. With an aroma of floraly, bread. Great thirst quencher.

(Bottle) This may not be a fair rating as the “best before” date is five and a half years passed. Appearance is slightly murky brown with thin white head. Aroma is toffee with vegetable notes. Palate is medium with good carbonation. Taste is toffee at the start, with some rather metallic bitterness developing. Drinkable, but not great (probably better when it was fresh half a decade ago!)

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is bready malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with raisin and metallic in the finish. Meh

355ml Bottle: best before 30 Apr 2013, opened on 12 Apr 2013 and poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard. Looked good, light amber going onto copper in body colour, on top a full head of white crowned it off nicely. I thought this had a malt bias throughout: something I like. The nose had a mild caramel hint within the aroma and that followed along within the mouth flavours. Hops are around giving the beer a balanced feel but this is a semi-sweet brew which fits my taste profile very nicely.

Lighter brown ale with a mild pale ale character, lost somewhat amongst the sweet taste and aroma.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear deep golden. Aroma has a bit of oxidation, some fruitiness, malt and honey-ish notes. Sweetish caramelly flavor with some fruitiness and light oxidation. Light to medium-bodied.
