35,5 cl bottle @ wPBF’13, BBE 02.05.2013
Aroma has coffee notes, nuts and hints of licorice. Flavour has somewhat salty licorice, some coffee notes, milk chocolate and hints of ash. A bit too salty but nice anyway.
No signs of aging even though the BBE was really close.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Black colour, ruby in the highlights. Large beige head. Nice aroma of dark chocolate, mildly roasted malts, mild coffee and woodwork. Medium dry flavour, fairly smooth, with the same elements as in the aroma. Very moderate hops.

A colabrown beer with a big, almost creamy and light brown head. Aroma is strongly roasted, but not burned, coffee and chocolate, that fresh the aroma, hint of lactose, the good aroma. Taste is roasted, liquirice, interesting salt, coffee and herbs. Complex and surprisingly, rich of nuancees. Almost medium bodied, quite high and smooth carbonation, nice to drink. The complex Dry Stout, ocean saltyness is great nuance and that differs positively this beer from the others, also lots of taste, I like this beer.

From a 12 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a cloudy dark cola with an off white head. Toasted biscuit aroma. Flavors roasted malt, saltines and just a hint of oyster. Nice balance. Mellow aftertaste.

Small tan-brown head over very deep brown, opaque beer. Inviting coffee nose, dessert coffee, café crème, moccha. Coffee, roasted coffeebeans, bit ashy, very dry. Finish seems to sport alcohol freely (at 5.5% ABV??), and also chili. There is something mineral, but I couldn’t link it to oyster nor mother-of-pearl. Spritzy feel, enhanced by the strange chili experience. Slick, only medium bodied. Nice. Says it all.

Bottle at the De Molen second Tuesday tasting, April 2013. Poured a dark brown colour with a thin slightly broken tan head. The aroma is dry and peaty, leading to a medium bitter, earthy flavour with lots of malty creaminess on the palate. A super beer from Flying Dog.
