Clean aromas of rich lime, lemon and walnut move to a super fresh palate of juicy fruit, lime pastille and floral hints.
A belter of a beer in a balanced and refreshing style originally made for the farm workers in the summer heat.
Saison and a light Thai curry…done!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a lively and lacing white head. Spicy, yeasty, fruity nose, slightly tart. Medium body, fruity and peppery, an astringent yeastiness and some late hops. Decent if not exactly outstanding. 160217

Bottle at Sanderling Spoons, Glasgow Airport. Hazy citrus aroma. Hazy yellow gold. Citrus kick. Light bodied. More of a hefe perhaps, but refreshing nevertheless.

Keg at the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Light gold, only slightly hazy with a bit of white head. The saison yeast is recognisable but light, with rounding hints of soft citrus and hay. Sweet taste with less of intense nutmeggy spice so often found in these beers. Just a slight spicy-sour twist near the very end. Surprisingly thin body but then again these are labourers’ beers so you don’t want something too heavy. Key lime pie in the aftertaste. Well made and enjoyable.

Many thanks to Sean for this bottle. The beer starts fruity-spicy with a nice sweetish malty body. An early no bitterness, slightly malty-funky till the end. The aftertaste is fresh and fruity with a nice farmhouse-ale-like sourish-spicy aroma. Nice beer, but for me a bit too sweet in the body, that covers a bit of the spicy funkiness.
