Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is dark malt, cacao nibs, plenty of cinnamon, tonka beans, soft roast, touch of vanilla and coconut, light coffee with a hint of smoke and dried dark fruits most likely from the tonka. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate roasty bitter. Body is medium to full. Very tasty, big on the cinnamon, cacao nibs and tonka, lovely aroma.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, tonka and spiced. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, roasted, chocolate, tonka and spiced finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Tobacco, roast and cocoa in the aroma. Sweet flavor with milk chocolate, roast and raisin. Cocoa powder finish. Very low on carbon. Nice, but not flawless.

Bottle at home from De Bierkonig, 11th May 18. Pours black, quite thin. Aroma is chocolate, spice, coffee. Taste is chocolate, strange tang, spice, interesting, quite tasty.

Batch 1731. Them sneaky buggers used peated malts, fun surprise! Thick and creamy. Little bit of tonka adds sugar loaf and balances with the peat. Hints of cinnamon and cacao left, maybe more when fresh? Still a very tasty and subtly sweet stout.

0.375 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', best before May 2021. Pitch black with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, nougat, mocca and toasted nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, nougat, hazelnut, stracciatella and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, a bit warming finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really tasty, could just be a bit more intense, still a pleasant chocolate-forward Imperial Stout.

Bottle @ home. Brown colour, beige foam. Sweet and malty nose, lots of spices (cinnamon, ginger bread, speculaas). Taste is sweet and spicy. Medium body, medium carbonation. Nice beer.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin light brown head. Taste: Dark chocolate, pretty smooth, bitter notes, earthy. Clear notes of cinnamon and something else (I presume the tonka beans, but I don’t know how these beans taste). Especially at the end a pretty stronge taste and mouthfeel of tobacco. Full body and below medium carbonation. Pretty unusual taste, nice beer and glad that I had the opportunity to taste one, but only for once in a while.

8 4 8 4 15 375 ml bottle @ home. Pitch black color. Dense light brown head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s chocolate, fruit jam, a bit roasted, some earthy beans. Retronasal it’s sweet, chocolate, a bit red fruit, a bit earthy, herbal )sweet spices/cinnamon). Flavor is moderate sweet, moderate roasted bitter, slightly earthy. Medium bodied. Soft smooth mouthfeel, a bit low carbonation. Long finish, roasted, dark chocolate, moderate bitter.
