The porters of Old England were complex, dark, and smoky from vast amounts of wood-kilned brown malt. Our homage to this beer of the people is brewed with beech-smoked Rauch and peat-smoked whisky malt, before a generous cold-infusion of traditional resinous wood-smoked Chinese Lapsang Souchong tea leaves. Expect malt complexity, barbeque, and exotic wood smoke!

Chucked in by the brethren. Dark and inky. Cola tint. Thick foamy beige head. The smoke hits me well before the glass is anywhere near my face smell thing. Alongside some the herbal tea and light coffee. Bitter boi. Pleasantly acrid. Coffee and charcoal. Tannin Herbal hints. Thst lapsang stuff moreso into the finish. Light-medium bodied Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry extremely astringent finish. Really.rather bitter. Seal clubbingly so.

Keg at the CP&K, 22/06/17. Dark mahogany brown with a well presented beige cap. Nose is smoked malts, spice, Lapsang tea leaves, brown bread, herbal tones. Taste comprises light cocoa powder, Lapsang well evident, tea leaves, spice, biscuit, smoked wood, herbs, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok in small doses I guess but couldn’t drink a whole lot of this.
