Doesn’t feel boozy, don’t get the treacle unfortunately. Dark fruit, bit of choc and bitterness. Strange

Third in Hippo Taproom. Dark brown, opaque with a thick tan head. Sweet, treacle toffee aroma. Flavour is bitter, sweet, milky coffee to start with, with a sweet toffee finish. The 10% alcohol isn’t evident.

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is quite light and semi dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Smooth dark malts, mildly sweet. Bitterish and tangy treacle - toffee. Little soap. Mmm - I wanted this to be a lot of sweeter and not so tangy, but it is a little off the Imperial Stout beaten track.

330ml bottle from Head of Steam Railway Museum Shop, Darlington. Pours black in colour with a beige foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of roast malt, molasses, milky chocolate, coffee, fruity. Taste is roasted, malt, caramel, sweet, molasses, toffee, milk chocolate, dark fruits, some coffee & earthy notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty finish. Nicely drinkable.
