Bittersweet flavours of toffee apple and apple skin with a hint of cut grass, soft tannins and a lingering crisp, dry finish. A blend of Dabinett (bittersweet), Ellis Bitters (medium bittersweet) and Brown’s Apple (sharp). Dabinett has good acidity and plentiful but soft tannins and gives ciders their caramel/ butterscotch tastes. Ellis and Brown’s are sharper apples. They give cider structure, a clean taste and long length.

Growler from LCB, now under the 'Once Upon a Tree' brand. My first from this cidery. Clear gold with some slow dissipating white foam. Aroma of bittersweet apples, skins, orchard funk. Taste has that acidity as expected from the aroma but far from overbearing. Character is ok - the bittersweet aspect is good, some leather with the sourness giving it a decent edge.

Nice enough. Not sparkling but a solid apple taste. Keeping it simple but nice.

Bottle from Three Counties Cider Shop, Ledbury, Herefordshire, consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire, Sunday 1st November 2015. Deep gold in colour, super clarity, very busy carbonation. In some respects this is not unlike the Olivers Gold Rush I had before, not from a flavour aspect, more so in the sense that the producer makes much better ciders. Tart in the mouth, it’s quite crisp, the appleyness is a bit thin, it’s dry it’s a bit watery, not really my thing. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9
