Don’t just take our word for it, ask any fisherman and they’ll attest – it’s not only the trickle of trout that bites on the tranquil River Stour at Blandford.

Should you wade these waters on a warm summer’s night, beware the infamous Blandford Fly, whose bothersome bite can only be soothed with a spicy slice of fresh ginger.

A uniquely sweet and spicy golden ale with a refreshingly different ginger taste, offset with hints of sweet toffee.

Bottle at home from Tesco. This is more ginger beer than beer and is really not my thing at all. It definitely wasn't an artificial ginger flavour, but was not to my taste as there was no integration.

Bottle. Clear golden colour, decent white head of pretty good retention. That’s it in terms of advantadges. Gingery aroma. Hints of malts and fruit. Light to medium body. Sweet malty taste. Spicy. A little hot. What about hops? They are on holidays I guess. The worst from Badger so far.

Bottle. Amber/golden coloured. Small head. Aroma of bananas, citrus fruits and ginger. Taste is sweet ginger, malts and some bananas. Low carbonation. Creamy. It’s ok but I don’t think I’ll often be in the mood for this one.

500ml bottle. Clear golden amber colour with a one-two finger smooth creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma: ginger, sweetish malt, toffee, spice. Taste: ginger, spices, malt. Quite sweet in flavour, very little bitterness, almost creamy in texture Interesting brew... Bit too much ginger/spices in it for my liking, probably pairs well with spicy food but not great as a beer on its own.

Decent refreshing ale.
Clear golden color with a fine white head. Moderate ginger intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Malty, herbal and ginger in the flavor.

Bottle at the Old Nick, London. Pours a light brown colour with a small off white head. Aroma a curious medicinal, herbal spice mix with a touch of ginger. Quite sweet, little bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture. Not keen, and not because I dislike ginger, but this one was just wide of any mark.
