Pours a murky amber colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, chestnut, spices. Flavour is much the same, subtle sweetness. Overall a bit on the thin side, but I enjoyed my bottle. Speaking of bottles, I really appreciate the presentation this brewery has chosen for its beers.

Bottle 0,75ltr: Hazy amber coloured brew with an firmy nutty taste and hints of caramel. Kind of greasy like beer but pretty darn good too.

750 ml bottle, as Birra del Borgo CastagnAle, probably from Matkroken Stokka. BBE 12/2014. ABV is 4.2%. Beautiful reddish colour, unfortunately spoiled by loads of floaties that don’t dissolve in the beer. Moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, chestnuts and over-ripe fruits, hints of solvent. Slightly sweet flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. Might be somewhat better fresh, but probably not my cup of tea under any circumstance.

Bottle from Open Baladin. Chestnut Amber brown. A fruity, nutty aroma with slight biscuit. Really interesting taste, acidic, tart, nutty with some grainy biscuitiness. Easy to drink and enjoyable brown ale, preferred by everyone over Palafrina by Troll...

0,75 bottle purchased in Rome and consumed in Serbia. Pours honey color, cloudy with a minimal gassy off white head. Nose: under fermentation must (yeast), sour notes, hidden chestnuts. Mouth: sour feeling but lack of character. Forgettable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
