Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.

Thick brown color. Hoppy aroma. Thick head and lots of lacing. Hoppier than expected for a brown ale, but not as nutty as you might hope. A bit salty.

Aromas a caramelo tostado cacao y café. Sabores a maltas tostadas y un regusto amargo y torrefacto bastante intenso que permanece en boca un buen rato. Para repetir una y otra vez sin problema.

Bottle from the Mikkeller Christmas Calendar. Very dark brown, seems clear. Rocky, offwhite froth. Aroma has dark roast, notes of coffee and choc and light notes of hops. Roasted flavour, some coffee and chocolate. Good roasted bitterness, slightly bready finish. Good brown ale.

Tap at King William IV, 16/08/13. Mid black with a dirty tan head. Nose is light chocolate, brown sugars, dark toffee, brown bread. Taste follows, cocoa, dark malts, fruit loaf, treacle toffee, ashy, hoppy backnotes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Tasty beer for the style - hopped up brown.

On tap at Mikkeller. A dark rich brown pour which was completely opaque. The aroma was nice and smokey. The full body gave me smoke, bacon & roastiness. Maybe not all that complex but really nice.

Tap at Mikkeller. Dark brown, almost black, lace. Fruity caramel nose, melon, peach, grape. Roasty malt, lots of fruit, licorice, grassy hops. Light tommedium. Decent, notmreally a brown. Tangy hops make it nice, though it doesn’t really excite me.

Tap at King William IV. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is earthy, roasty, earth, toasty, coffee, varnish and chocolate. The taste is roasty, earth, toast, liquorice, coffee, cocoa, good bitterness and light ash with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Tasty and very drinkable.
