500ml bottle from Notcutts Garden Centre Shop, Peterborough. 6.0%. Deep orange-brown amber colour with reddish tinge, short-lived white foam head and aroma of tangy apple, funk, citric. Taste is mellow apple, fruity, bittersweet with funky barnyard, leather, vinegary hint and drying tannins. Medium bodied, soft slightly spritzy carbonation, drying tart and tannic finish. Nicely drinkable

500 ml bottle, from The British Corner Shop. ABV is 5.0%. Reddish amber colour, pours moderately sparkling with a shortlived off-white head. Possibly the darkest cider I've seen made only of apples. Aroma of bittersweet cider apples with some tannins, a hint of smoke (charred oak), . Medium dry flavour, still some residual sweetness, plenty of tannins, some bitterness, notes of oak and sulphites. Enjoyable.
