A deep chestnut beer with a great malty character and spicy mollases and blackcurrant notes from the British hop Jester - one sip and you're hooked!

Cask at Five Lamps, Derby. Pours a rich ruby with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some fruity hints. In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has malts, autumn fruits and nuts with traces of spice and ginger coming through later. Fruitiness lasts into the finish to some extent. This is quite nice – not brilliant but better than the award winning Ay Up !
