We took cider apples from the back orchard at Cockhaise Mill Farm and blended them with eaters to give a pleasing dry with plenty of complex notes. After the picking we picnicked with Roger and Cathy and friends from the Cider Club right on the edge of the Bluebell Railway while steam trains whistled by.

330ml bottle as part of a delivery from Scrattings and drunk at home. Deep mid- to dark gold, clear and mostly flat. Sweet apple aroma with lightt sour notes, with oak alongside a papery, almost smoky character. Tart taste with a vinegary sour and a drying finish. Full mouthfeel with overripe apple in the aftertaste. Decent if a little bit odd.
