Hazy pale blond colour with fluffy head. Aroma has plenty of fresh green hop. Flavour is pleasantly bitter with old school rounded hop flowers.

This beer has eluded me for a while but finally got the chance to sample it, at Nationale Bierhappening in Zottegem. A modern (read: American style) hoppy wheat ale, hopped with Rakau, which is apparently a New Zealand variety I never heard of - which, according to the brewer, was a bit intentional, this is definitely the first time anyone uses it in Belgium... Irregularly shaped, cobweb-lacing, moussy, show white, medium thick head, 'equally' cloudy yellow blonde with peachy tinge. Aroma of sweet yellow kiwi (could be autosuggestion due to the New Zealand link), orange peel, green onions, soggy white bread, lime juice, old kitchen herbs, grass, pear, some mango. Spritzy, crisp onset, lively fruitiness of pear and a lot of pineapple, some unripe banana, sweetish and sourish with minerally, bit numbing (over)carbonation. Slick, somewhat soapy and bit 'plastery' malt sweetness, some breadiness and lingering fruit notes, but quickly working towards a drying, aromatic, spicy hop bitter finish, very refreshing and quite delicate with bitter honey, dried camomile and citrus peel notes, as well as a tropical fruit side note. Straightforward quencher, a bit "new saison-like" actually and very much up to date, certainly not your average hop-forward Belgian ale. Well executed, if a tad overcarbonated even for its own intentions.

Malty, hoppy nose with notes of grainy malt, grass, hay, tropical fruit and herbal hops. Malty, hoppy taste with bread, cereal, herbal hops, tropical fruit, grass and a balanced bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, but a bit unfocused. Quite nice.
