750ml bottle from Scrattings. Pale yellow golden colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of fruity pear, orchardy, woody, funky. Taste is sweetish, syrupy, perry pear, then tangy, sourish with funky, woody, herby notes, and some drying tannin. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry leafy pear finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle from Middle Farm Cider Centre. Opens with a bit of fizz. It pours clear pale green gold with no head. The aroma is rustic, earthy, must, barnyard, brett, pear skin and funk. The taste is crisp, firm dryness, tart, soft pear, white grape, gooseberry, floral, white wine, bright acidity, touch of sherbet, light alcohol presence and tannin with a dry finish. Medium body and a touch of carbonation. Relatively subtle, yet has a great depth of flavour. Pretty excellent. A top drawer perry.
