To complement the Anchor Ale we've produced a Double Anchor version, in the style of a traditional India Pale Ale i.e. high in alcohol and heavily hopped, so as to withstand the long voyage from England to India in the 19th century. The grains are pale and crystal malts, plus some flaked oats for head retention and body. English hops produce 35 IBUs of bitterness.

500ml bottle from Vine and Grain, drunk at our lodge cabin in Skirlaugh East Yorks. Hazed deep reddish amber, good off-white head. Quite malty, floral and hoppy sweet with apricot and orange hints. For some reason reminds me of an early-craft IPA. Decent.
